   Oriental origin, cf. Ar. nak[imac]r hollowed.] (Zool.)
   A pearly substance which lines the interior of many shells,
   and is most perfect in the mother-of-pearl. [Written also
   nacker and naker.] See Pearl, and Mother-of-pearl.
